The National Guard wants to sway me from a Severence package....what are they hiding?

I am being separated (Non Med) from the AGR Program and since I have over 6 years in they say im eligible for a Severance package....but they are really against me considering it. Why?. Is it that it screws up your retirement?....is it directive from NGB?....Due to the fact the guard is hell bent on ruining my career, I don't trust anything they tell me...wonder why?. Any one have advise?
